Maybe you’re not a morning person. But I think God might be because scripture has positive things to say about mornings.
Mornings offer a fresh start. And not simply because we drink a cup of fresh coffee.
A new day means another chance to get things right.
Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning
Psalm 30:5 NLT
Today, I want to share a few words about mornings from one of my favorite inspirational authors, Holley Gerth.
In “New Every Morning” a devotional published in the book What Your Soul Needs for Stressful Times, she writes:
Research shows what we think about first thing in the morning influences the course of our day. Finding a simple routine to do as soon as we wake up, like writing down three things we’re grateful for, can help.
We choose to fix our eyes on the horizon of the future, look for the first light breaking through the clouds, believe in what we can’t yet fully see. Oh, of course, we’ll still experience tears, anger, and disappointment sometimes. That’s part of being human too. But we never give up hope.
A new morning is always coming. The sun will rise again, and so will we.
What do you like about mornings?
I like my morning routine! Ride my exercise bike while my mind wakes up, study my Bible, and have breakfast with Dad while catching up on the news. And of course, coffee ☕️ 😁

Yes! Sometimes my daily habits drag me into a rut, but I am definitely a morning person. Thanks for reading and commenting.
